Is My Lipstick Causing Acne?

By | March 17, 2014

lipstick45Hello! I have oily/sensitive/acne-prone skin. Ugh! Anyways, I have started to notice that when I don’t wear any products like liners and lipsticks, I don’t get those ugly zits right around my mouth. Thing is, I like to wear that stuff now and then. Has anyone who has this same problem found any line or brand that they can use?

Answers:

My sister has the same problem. She tried everything nothing ever worked-sorry. But she stopped trying like 5 years ago so maybe there’s some new products out sorry.

I tend to get blackheads around the outer portions of my lips, too.

The only thing I can suggest is not using products made with petrochemicals. i.e. mineral oils. Read labels. I switched from carmex to burts beeswax chapstick. That has helped me bunches.

why dont’ you try MAC or Clinique…clinique is make for ppl with sensitive skin.

I’ve never had your problem, but I don’t like lipstick because it rubs off and you have to re-apply. I like “benetint” by benefit. It’s a liquid that you apply and literally tints your lips. You can also use it on your cheeks, but I’ve not been brave enough since it dries rather quickly and it’s not easy to take off. The more layers you put on, the more bold the color. Since it’s not oil based, it may work for you. I wait for it to dry then apply my lip balm over the top. I’m a big fan of Burt’s Bees myself. Not only do they make plain lip balm, but they also have tinted balm.

I agree that MAC or Clinique are best.

I like MAC’s colors better.

I like mac’s slimshine lipstick. it’s like a lipgloss and lipstick in one. goes on smooth and sheer. A new Lipstick combining creamy emolliency with a unique sheer colour pay-off. Finishes include cream, sparkling pearl and metallic. Provides the shine and moisturizing comfort of a gloss but with a smooth, non-sticky finish. Distinctive on and off. Comes packaged in its own stylish extra-long lipstick case.
